Meet the Merritt Island Air & Heat Team
Roger - Owner/President
Roger, a State Certified Mechanical Contractor CAC058007 joined our team in 1975 in the residential department. When Roger began with Merritt Island Air & Heat it was mainly a residential company and he was tasked to develop the commercial department shortly after his arrival. He had an opportunity in the 80’s to purchase the company from the previous owner. As he grew the commercial department so did the company. He would later sell the company but stay on as President. Eventually he and his wife had an opportunity to purchase the company once again in the early 2000’s. Outside of Air Conditioning he loves spending time with his 3 grandchildren, dogs and following his favorite pastime NASCAR. Roger’s passion for the industry along with values about family are why Merritt Island has stayed so successful since his start in 1975.
Brenda - Owner/Vice President
Brenda became Owner/Vice President when her and Roger bought the company in the early 2000s. She assists with making many of the employee benefit decisions as well as keeps the morale up around the office by bringing the grandkids or dogs in to visit with the people in the office. She is involved in Real Estate as well and she loves to travel when her and Roger can find the time.
Bruce - Controller
Bruce joined our team in 1999 as the controller. He oversees the financials for the company and reviews the numerous ongoing projects to ensure that they are adhering to their projected financial goals. If you ever need to know anything about sports Bruce is the person to see, his specialty is Boston Sports. When Bruce isn’t making sure things are running financially fit for the company you will often see him with his family or at the gym.
Brigitte – Office Manager/Account Payables
Brigitte joined our team in 1983 as a receptionist. She has since moved up to be the Office Manager and is in charge of Accounts Payable. Brigitte is definitely the glue that keeps us all together. Although her title may say one thing she involved in so many aspects of the business that when she is out of the office many of us find ourselves lost without her. When she isn’t holding us together Brigitte is out enjoying her family and traveling when she has the time.
Mert - HR Manager
Mert joined our team in 1981 working in our Sheet metal Shop. With his knowledge in mathematics he has since taken over employee payroll and all billings for the company along with running the HR department, where he handles all employee benefits. When he isn’t passing out paychecks Mert likes to get away with his wife on cruises, trips to New England in the fall and the occasional Las Vegas Trip when they can find the time.
Sheri - Account Receivables
Sheri joined our team in 2014. Sheri keeps an eye on everything purchased for the company and assigns them to the various job. This is a very attention to detail job as we can have 20 to 30 different jobs going on at any given time. Her organizational skills keep everything inline for each job and, as stressful as it can be tracking down all of the receipts, you will always see her with a smile on.
Chris - Residential Manager
Chris, a State Certified Mechanical Contractor CAC1818703, joined our team in 2010 as a project manager in the commercial department. In 2013 Chris took on managing the Residential Department and is still involved in commercial projects as well. His favorite thing to do when he is not managing the department is spending time with his family, either on vacations, weekend trips to Disney or just involved with their various activities, they keep him busy.
Chris - Comfort Specialist/Install Supervisor
Chris has over 25 years of experience in the field and joined our team in 2008 as a residential installer. He became a comfort specialist/install supervisor in 2017. His knowledge of the install process assists him with the ability to recommend the system that will meet all of your comfort needs. He likes to work with his hands, whether it is wood working or the arts he has translated this passion into skill when installing a system and is passing it on to our installers.
Chris - Residential Installer
Chris joined our team in 2017. He like many of our employees has a family member that is also employed by Merritt Island Air & Heat. He is a dedicated and hard-working employee that will assist in getting you the comfort that you desperately need in your home.
Eddie - Comfort Specialist
Eddie has over 30 years of experience in the field and joined our team in 2000 as an install supervisor/comfort specialist. He recently shifted to full time sales but his experience in the field with installs gives him an advantage over your average salesperson. He enjoys the outdoors, whether it is going camping or attending a country festival. When he isn’t providing you the best option for your comfort needs he is trying to figure out how to get to Italy one of these days.
Mary – Residential Administrator
Mary joined our team in 2015 and has been bringing smiles to us and our customers ever since. She is more than likely the first person you will talk to or see when you contact us and if your system has just run out of time she will be the friendly voice that will get you scheduled with one of our comfort specialists. When she isn’t busy getting everything together for your new system, she enjoys movie night and cooking Italian dinners for the family.
Sean - Residential Installer
Sean joined our team in 2016 and will be the first person to greet you on the day of your new system install. His professionalism and attention to detail are great attributes to his ability to install your system the right way. Once your comfort needs have been met Sean makes his way back home to spend time with his family and read a good book.
Rick - Commercial Department Manager
Rick has 50 years of experience in the field and joined our team in 1997 as the department manager. He manages our Commercial Department where we specialize in AT&T Data Centers, Clean Rooms, School Board Jobs, Universities, Assisted Living and numerous other business that need our help. When he isn’t managing our large commercial department of over 40 employees, he finds the time to relax on the golf course.
Brad - Chief Estimator
Brad joined our team in 2005 as an installer in the residential department. He joined the estimation department in 2007 and became the chief estimator in 2014. Brad enlisted in the US Marines out of high school, and enjoys traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He is the Nation Chief of the YMCA Canaveral Nation Indian Guides, a father-son group he’s been in with his son since 2014.
Jeff - Project Manager
Jeff joined our team in 2004 as a lead supervisor in the field. He was promoted to Project Manager in 2016 and has been a great asset to our team bringing recent field experience into the office as a project manager. Jeff manages the majority of our assisted living and dormitory projects. Originally from the Boston area Jeff likes to go back their as often as he can to visit with family and friends.
Laura - Administrative Assistant
Laura has been with us since 2014 and is one of the friendly voices you will talk with when working with the commercial department. She keeps the commercial department organized and, on their toes, to get the numerous projects completed. When she is getting permits or putting together contracts and submittals she enjoys going on family vacations when she can during the summer months.
Paul - Project Manager
Paul has 34 years of experience in the field and joined our team in 2004 as a project manager. He manages a majority of our jobs out at Kennedy Space Center and enjoys the challenges that they present. Saturdays in the fall are his favorite time of the year because he can enjoy one of his passions college football.
Robert - Commercial Solutions Consultant Updated
Robert joined our team in 2006 as a sales specialist in the service department. In 2013 Robert transition to our Commercial team to lead the sales department. His knowledge of equipment is essential for him to evaluate the situation and provide a system that is right for you business or commercial project. When he isn’t on the phone in the office striking deals, he is out on the golf course or fishing getting even more deals done.
Mark - Service Operations Manager
Mark, a State Certified Mechanical Contractor CAC1815689, has been an integral part of our team since joining us in 1993 as a Service Technician. He manages our Service Department and when he isn’t taking care of his customers Mark is spending time with his family and enjoying his motorcycle. With his service knowledge, experience, and sales expertise there isn’t anyone more qualified then him in Brevard County to meet your service needs.
Ben - Service Technician
Ben has been with us since 2015 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. He has a passion for the outdoors and will be glad to service your outdoor unit with the same passion.
Billie - Service Administrator
Billie has been with us since 2016 and is another of the friendly voice you may chat with when you need to talk to the service department. She takes the time to listen to your needs and concerns and helps to ensure that you are receiving award winning service.
Bob - Service Technician
Bob has been with us since 1997 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. Bob retired in 2016 but he missed working here so much he decided to come back part time in 2017. He enjoys traveling and anything Minnesota. He is one of our most experienced technicians and is always looking for more knowledge to better service your system.
Charlie - Service Technician
Charlie has been with us since 2010 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. Charlie likes to travel when he is not servicing your system.
Dalton - Service Technician
Dalton has been with us since 2012 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. When Dalton isn’t working on your system he is out staring in commercials for Papa Johns.
Dylan - Service Estimator
Dylan has been with us since 2016 and works with Steve and Mark in creating and coordinating estimates for repairs and replacements for the service department. He is avid outdoors man and when he is not working up an estimate for your business he his thinking about how to eventually visit Alaska one of these years.
Haden – Service Technician
Haden has been with us since 2014 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. Haden was once a former officer with the Sheriff’s Office and an unfortunate injury had him change careers. This is great for us as he will not only make you feel safe but he will also service your system with honor.
James - Service Technician
James has been with us since 2016 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. He will come out to your home or business and it will be hard to find him without a smile. He is one of our friendliest technicians and will assure that we get your comfort system working properly.
Jeff - Service Technician
Jeff has been with us since 2007 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. He has always had an interest in technology and is one of our best with dealing with new technology that is involved in your comfort system.
Kathi - Dispatch Specialist
Kathi has been with us since 2010 and is one the friendly voices you will chat with to schedule your service appointments. She loves to travel and scrapbooks in her spare time when she is not taking care of you our valued customer.
Mark - Service Technician
Mark has been with us since 2014 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. He is our extreme thrill taker as he has jumped off a bridge and gone parasailing before. He is also a NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certified Technician so he has been certified by industry experts to work on your system.
Steve - Sales Specialist
Steve has been with us since 2011 and works with local businesses to ensure that their comfort as well as their customer’s comfort is being met with a reliable air conditioning unit from Merritt Island Air & Heat. When he is not working on a comfort solution for your business he is rooting for the Red Sox or Patriots.
Thomas - Service Technician
Thomas has been with us since 2017 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. Thomas will get to your house and immediately get after the problem. He is one of our most thorough technicians and strives for excellence in every repair.
Vince - Service Technician
Vince has been with us since 1995 and is part of the certified service technicians that will be coming to your home or business to work on your system. Vince is our longest tenured service technician and will ensure your unit is working properly once he is finished.
